Free SMS or Offline Chat in Gmail

Gmail introduced a new way to chat offline by sending sms to your friends. Now you don't need to wait for your friend to come online to do the chatting because you can send free text sms and also your friend can do the reply from his mobile itself.

Every new use will get free sms credit 50 and whenever you get response from your friends your sms credit will be increased to 5. 

How to send sms in gmail

For New Contact
  • Type the mobile number in the chat and click the send SMS from the right panel menu > Create a contact and then send sms like the below image shows.

Already Existing Contact
  • Type the contact name and click the send SMS from the right panel menu


Once you click the Send SMS link then Chat window will appear like the below image in that you can see the remaining credit count.
