Windows Platform

Visit zune.net
Download the zune software for your PC
Accept if you agree the terms and conditions > Online installation > Launch
Now plug your Lumia device into the PC via USB (Do not unplug during the update)
Follow the Wizard to configure your windows phone
Click next so that zune will check is there any update for your phone
Click update now (Your phone may restart several times during the update)
Again Do not unplug your phone during the update
Once update is complete you will be seeing finish button after that you can unplug your device from pc.

Mac Platform

Open App Store
Search for Windows phone connector
Install the application which comes with Windows logo
Now plug your Lumia device into the PC via USB (Do not unplug during the update)
Launch windows phone connector application
Device option > Check for update > Search for any updates > Ok
Clicking Next will download and install the updates (Your phone may restart several times during the update)
Again Do not unplug your phone during the update
Once your update is completed you will get an alert you dont have any new updates now click ok
Now you can unplug your device safely
